Rory Voudrach

Rory Voudrach

We regret to advise that Rory has passed away. His profile will remain in his memory.

Inuvialuit born and raised in Tuktoyaktuk, Rory Voudrach was residing in Inuvik. Rory was always interested in creating things. As a young boy growing up in Tuk, he recalled watching elders and craftsman working on ulus and other crafts outside of their homes. Rory had never lost that curiosity and will to create.

For the last several years Rory had been making ulus and knives from traditional vintage sawblade steel, moose/caribou antler and brass. Rory usually sticked to more traditional materials and styles, however he did enjoy experimenting. Rory was thankful for all past and present Inuvialuit and Inuit for the history and skill in creating useful cutting tool like the ulu.
